Managing Director : As part owner and qualified General Practitioner, our Managing Director, Dr Hillary Currie is responsible for the overall management of Kate Sheppard. Her prior experience in the management of acute medical facilities, general practice and health policy has given her an excellent range of experience and skills.

Clinical Nurse Manager: Our Clinical Nurse Manager, Shirley McKenzie is a Registered Nurse with several years experience in managing residential care facilities. She is responsible for the oversight of all nursing services provided at Kate Sheppard.

House Doctor : It is 5 years this month since the Lakeside Wing at Kate Sheppard welcomed it's first residents and 5 years since Dr Jean Herron was invited to become the House Doctor.
Dr Herron has seen many changes at Kate Sheppard in that time, initially with the stepwise commissioning of the new areas, each associated with an influx of new residents and later with changes in the management teams.
She has always had an interest in Health Care of the elderly and as a final year Medical student spent her 3 month elective period in the United Kingdom at 3 centres of excellence of Geriatric Medicine, including Glasgow which has the world's first Professor of Geriatrics.
Jean has been a General Practitioner in East Christchurch since 1992, as one the doctors at Eastcare Health in Aranui. She is proud that her Practice Team was recently awarded the Canterbury District Health Board prize for the 'Best multidisciplinary team'.

Operations Manager : Libby Cameron, our Operations Manager oversees the recruitment, employment and rostering of our staff to ensure that the services are of the highest quality.

Charge Nurse Riverside: Jillian Jones is our Charge Nurse for Riverside Complex.

Charge Nurse Lakeside: Fleur Minchen is our Charge Nurse for Lakeside.

Charge Nurse Upstairs Hospital: Erica Walker is our charge nurse for the Upstairs Hospital.

Charge Nurse Downstairs Hospital: Wynne Yee is our charge nurse for Downstairs Hospital.

Food Services Manager : The Kate Sheppard meals service is managed by a highly qualified and experienced Chef and Food Services Manager, Shaun ODonahue.

Quality Manager : Kate Sheppard has a strong commitment to ongoing quality improvement and risk management. Sharon Grieve provides an essential role of oversight of all Kate Sheppard quality systems. Residential care facilities are now required to maintain complex quality and risk management systems. Our quality manager ensures that Kate Sheppard policies and procedures are compliant in all areas.

Training Coordinator: Training is a critical quality function to ensure that high quality safe services are provided for our residents. Sandy Shipley, our Training Coordinator provides orientation and mentoring for our care staff. She undertakes regular checks of care services and manages our ACE training programme.

Laundry Services Manager: At Kate Sheppard all laundry is done onsite by a dedicated team of workers. Fiona Philpott is the manager of this area.
